Shedding Hair Clumps

Hello,

I came across this draft gelding today who has a very dull coat and appears to be having some issues shedding out (as evident by the large clumps of hair still remaining). I am unsure of his age but I would estimate him to be probably 13+ years. The owner claims they have de-wormed him frequently, but with what I do not yet know. He is used as a work horse but can't seem to keep up with the others and fatigues more easily.

I understand that the issue could be a number of things: nutritional, skin health, and/or parasites. What are you thoughts on this issue?

Yearling
Drafts are notorious for having metabolical issues, and going off the pictures, that would be my first guess. He could also still have a big load of worms that the dewormer didn't take care of, that's why it's recommended to do fecal egg counts.

Cushings Disease. A condition that I have found affects older horses is this unusual shedding of the coat. As I am unsure of this horses age it is hard to tell whether this is the problem. A horse with Cushings also has the following symptoms - excessive thirst, excessive urination, prone to laminitis and unusual coat shedding. The condition effects the pituitary gland effecting endocrine function. Worth reading about, hope this is helpful.
