Should I be worried?

I mentioned that lately my horse has been coughing and farting at the same time because it was weird. My friends told me that some horses do that when they're sick...what sickness would that be? They also asked if he had stuff running out of his nose, he hasn't had excessive amounts, just what seemed normal. I'm just worried now. Does anyone know what it could be or if I should be worried?

Haven't you ever coughed and farted at the same time? Doesn't necessarily mean the horse is sick. Is he otherwise fine? Eating, drinking, and acting normal?

if the horse is coughing excessively it could be the beginning of a cold, alergies, etc. Excess gas could be caused by a dietary imballance.

most likely? its perfectly normal. just like humans, horses occasionally cough to clear their airways, and fart when it becomes nessesary.

Oh hell, I've been known to cough and fart at the same time. I just try not to do it at social gatherings if at all possible! LOL

That alone does not make for a sick horse. Keep and eye on him just be sure and in the meantime, go ahead and tell your friends that they're just jealous because your horse is multi talented and can do more than one thing at a time.

Horses cough & fart to clear out those airways. If it's dusty or lots of pollen around, cough/farts can be heard in areas occupied by horses. However if your horse is constantly hacking, then you have a cause for concern.
