    Desitin baby butt ointment. You don't have to flyspray after use either. It keeps the flies off. Just slather it on, rub it in, scratch up the loose stuff the next day, repeat as needed. Works on rainrot, scratches, etc.. You can use the storebrand.

    Desitin also works great as sunscreen for horses with white noses. It won't irritate the skin and will help soothe sunburn that's already there. I keep a big "value size" tube in my tack box .

    Just keep in mind that rain rot thrives in a moist envrionment, so I would use the desitin to remove the scabs, then something to kill the bacteria.
