Stiff back leg

Last week I had my farrier out and he noticed my 10 year old mare was stiff in her right back leg. I figured maybe I worked her too hard the day before but now it's been a week and it's still stiff. You can't tell at a walk or trot but when she canters it looks really sloppy and she kept trying to come back down into a trot. When she cantered on her left lead her back right leg took really short strides and almost looked like she was hopping with it. She's was fine putting weight on the leg though. I'm worried to ride her becacuse I'm afraid of hurting her. Anyway, I'm just not sure what to do about the stiff leg.

There are several stretches you can do to loosen the hind muscles out if you google the on the internet or I can look them up if you want? If it was my horse I would leave her off in the field for a few day rest and then lunge or ride her gently for a week to strengthen it in just walk in trot. If after that nothing chaned or it had gotten worse id get the vet for a look

I've looked up a few streches and tried them with her but I'm never sure how far to pull the leg.

Ok how to describe this pull the leg enough for slight resistence as when you stretch you don't want to much then release slowly I normally do 10 stretches by 3 reps on each leg
