I had a horse that had a hematoma on her stiffle. The vet had to come out three times for it. Once to drain it; it filled back up. So then he put a drain in it so it could drain for 3 days was it?, and then he came back out to remove the drain. She then got a hematoma on her knee a few weeks later...She was our "problem child"
oooh!! Hematoma completely slipped my mind!!:) I will have to second ur opinion!...oh we have a "problem child" too! She was starved so she's stunted, she didnt develop right so her psterns are extra long, her stifles are jacked up, her hips are un ever, and she has possums disease.... gah!!!:)

Hey, OP and Mark--

I have a horse who has a lump on the knee exactly like the one shown in the pictures. Difference is, he had it when we bought him five years ago, and it hasn't changed since. Sometimes it blows up to a big size, like in the photos. Sometimes it shrinks and is barely visible, but it's always there. There appears to be no pattern to its variations. It's not hot and does not bother the horse in the slightest. He is also sound.

Which is just to say....don't know why I'm sharing that story, but it must be something along the lines of what Mark posted, only permanent.
