Question Strange noise?

What is that strange noise many large horses make while they are trotting? It seems like a grunting.. but seems to come from their hips.. I've always wondered what this is?

Geldings makes that sound, it's from air trapped in their sheaths.

It doesn't mean they need to be cleaned necessarily, but ones who tend to trap a lot of air often need to be cleaned more frequently. Just another gelding quirk, lol.
