Sudden hair loss?

My horse recently developed several bald patches and his hair is falling out in clumps, just in the area. Does it look like a kick or bite, or something worse?

Looks like rainrot. Its very common and needs to be treated. I bought a horse that had it once and medicated absorbine cleared it up. I also believe vitamin A will help with it and help prevent it. pick the scabs apart, so the skin has air and spray or wash with the medicated Absorbine. keep him dry.
Many people here have alot of remedies.
