Yucca has been shown to be poisonous to horses in some studies, so I'd stay away from it altogether. I know lots of people use it with no problems, but would you want to be the one who used it and found out your horse was extra sensitive?

MSM works and is a pain reliever also. One of the two types of glucosamine products is too large to be absorbed (don't have my notes so not sure which one it is).

Biotin is the best hoof supplement and the only thing repeatedly proven to work in scientific studies. But you have to give it in a high enough dose. Sillybunny is right about giving it time. It takes about a year for a horse's hoof to grow all the way down.

There is glucosamine sulfate, glucosamine HCI and glucosamine chondrotin I believe. I think its HCI. It could be HCL- or HCI I forget what it actually stands for.

Agree. Most supplements provide a relatively low dose of it.
