Shes a bit off her feed, but shes always been a really slow eater. As in the others eat there feed right of, and she picks at it seemingly at random lol. Which is fine while being in the stall =) Shes already walking better again, still lame but not in a horrible omg that hurts way. So far so good

I think if you can keep infection out you should be good to go and I'm sure you're taking precautions for that.

Well, the prob was that infection had set in. Not horribly, but was present. Today's bandage change left me with some more hope though, was just all around better. Shes also no longer ignoring her feed, and shes cleaning up all her hay, and drinking more water. She just looks, more ok =)

I think as long as it's under control it's good. Glad she is doing better! Hopefully she has used up her bad luck for the year!

Farrier came today and pointed out that the leg itself is again swelling... *sigh* I had thought as much myself. And he said it may just be that the same leg has been injured again so soon that her body kind of had a freak out moment and is trying to help itself in the wrong way. Or that maybe its because shes standing in the stall again so soon after it healed? The vet isn't concerned when I called and asked him about it before the farrier saw it. And while he wasn't horribly concerned he said to keep and eye on it. Which I do anyways.... 2 maybe 3 more weeks of stall rest and she can go back out in the pony field (no bigger than a nice foaling stall) and be out in the sun again. And maybe more intrested in walking around to watch life happen around the property. Foot itself really seems to be healing, bandages no longer as nasty. And her pain response to me cleaning the actual hole itself is gone. The first week was horrible lol.... Very glad it was her and not one of the higher strung brats here =/ She may not be happy about it. But for a few extra pets and a kind word she accepts it
