Swelling in hock...?

Hi all, so its early morning here, so I want to make this decision now. My filly has a slightly swollen hock, but is showing no pain, no lameness, and there is no heat. My farrier happened to be with me this morning, and he said not to worry, just to watch it... but I am kind of a paranoid personality... should I get the vet out anyway? Or watch it, over the next day or two to see if it goes down or not.

Just need some reassurance... but no sure if anyone is awake here?

Going to call the vet.

Ha.

OK, vet says watch it for a couple of days... so I guess question is answered, and I feel better in my tummy.

I am such a paranoid android.

Pointless thread, lol.

glad to know your filly is okay. Its hard to say what a lameness is, without seeing it, and its always a safe bet to have the Vet examine. :)

Well, I just spoke to the vet on the phone... but she told me what it usually could be in these cases (several things), but just to watch if it gets worse, or if the horse starts presenting pain, and to walk her a bit, and hose the leg down, and to look if there is perhaps a small cut causing an infection (I did look, but couldn't see anything), and if there is no change/worsening in two days, she'll be out.

At least calling the vet is the best bet for me... she can usually calm me down over the phone if I'm just being silly (which is a lot).
