My horses enjoy being hosed down on hot days, but I never use cold water, only luke warm water. If I'm hot, the water doesn't have to be that cold for me to get too cold, if that makes sense. I figure the same would apply to the horses. And I always scrape the water off, because the wetter they are, the more likely it is they will roll. At least for my girls. And I have a mostly white mare.
