I was just wondering how much it costs to float a horses teeth and how to tell if that's what they need or not. My 12 yr old Palomino used to be pretty fat and now he is tiny and has ribs showing. Just wondering if that is what was needed..
A vet will check your horses teeth for sharp edges, uneven wear, his mouth in general, etc. They would be a very good place to start. I had Diesels done a few years ago (and have them checked once a year) he had some hooks removed, bit rests put in, some filing and anesthesia. It ran me like 150. Like appy said, it depends on what they need to do and the vet/area.
My vet does teeth, I had my horse vaccinated yesterday and asked about it, general floating is 40$ and seditive is 85$.
