I have my horse on U-gard pellets and he really likes them (very picky eater) He had an impaction colic 2 months ago and now I'm scared to death about it happening again so I want him on probiotics and he wont eat the equipride that our barn offers and I'm sick of putting him on so many different supplements. Is there one supplement that has it all in there and under $30.00?
Smartpak.com offers Smartgut which is just a little above your price range ($40), and it has pre/pro-biotics plus gut support. They have a neat little tool to compare all sorts of products: Ulcer Supplements at a Glance
I know that Biostar EQ has various pro-biotics available. But I would recommend maybe speaking with one of their consultants for a no charge consultation as they can take you through your entire feeding program. Maybe you can source out the underlying issues?
I would also check the possible origin of the colic, how, what and how much is he fed, how is he given water? Sometimes there is a very easy and cheap remedy in providing proper nutrition
does he have ulcers ? try feeding grass hay if possible , or oat hay .
