Thrush!

I hate it, living in a damp climate like we do I am always having to deal with it.

Anyone have some home remedies that I could use to treat it and prevent it from coming back.

My home remedies:

1) Gravel. Place in at least part of your horses area in fall, before it gets muddy. (I guess not so much home remedies...)

2) Apple Cider Vinegar. Spray onto grooves of hoof at least 1x a day. Works wonders!

i was going to place some gravel down but we just moved to this property (horses havent been on it for over a year) so I had no clue where the mud would be. Its just one spot in the field right outside there shelter but iplan to do that when it dries up a bit.

Apple cider vinegar... I will have to try that.

Also, I would recommend putting it in a GOOD spray bottle, a lot less waste than in those pouring bottles. . .

I have used Apple Cider vinegar and think it works wonders. Living in a wet climate as well I battle thrush during this time. As already stated, laying gravel down around high traffic and known muddy places helps a lot.

Not sure how well it works...but, I have read that making a mixture of 1/4 bleach and 3/4 water will help as well.

Good luck
