Treating EPM

Has anyone here had to treat for EPM? What did you use and how long did your horse have to be on it?
We are looking at the Marquis oral paste for our mule. I found it at smartpak for $760 for a month of treatment. Our vet said she would probably need 2 months, but on the smartpak reviews I am seeing people are treating even longer than that.
