Ugh, the snots

Well, I guess we're back in the thick of things for real now. I had forgotten after these many years the worry part of horse ownership.
Our girl has developed some yellow snot, one nostril, no fever, no lymph swelling, no loss of appetite, no nothing except that one snotty nostril.
Ten years of working as a vet tech later, I gave her some penicillin this morning, I'll keep her on this course for a few days and hope that clears it, if not, we'll be calling the vet.
Don't mind calling the vet, but he's out of town, as is his relief guy, and the guy they are referring to I'd just as soon not see, and I trust MY skill more than his really.
Wish us and our pretty girl luck. She's battled so much before and right after we got her that I feel bad for her if she even looks sideways it seems.

ROFL, Guess my straight forward post said it all huh?
Just an update, she's already looking better this afternoon. Gave her a 2nd shot, as vet said 2x day for first few days would be best idea.
Never had a horse stand so well for injections!
