Keep it up! How much is he getting right now? He can have up to 2 lbs (or 4 measuring cups) per day

He's at 1.5. Think I should bump up to 2?

I would go ahead and bump him up to 2lbs until he is at the weight you want him at ... then slowly back it down

His muscle tone has definitely improved, but you can still see those ribs about the same. What else are you feeding him? When was the last time he got his teeth floated?

Luvs2ride, I have him on Purina Enrich 32 in addition to the rice bran. I'll definitely bump him up to 2 lbs. I can't feel the ribs as easily-maybe that's not the best indicator?

Could I increase the .5 lb in one sitting, I.e. Tonight, or would just 1/4 lb be better?

How long has he been on it?? How much Enrich are you giving him??

How much hay is he getting? If he's getting free choice (or nearly so) hay, then I'd add a big 2qt scoop of alfalfa pellets to each meal, and keep him on 1.5 lbs of rice bran. Alfalfa worked great on my ribby boy.

Peggy, he's been on it since the beginning of November. I started transitioning him to it the 3rd week in October. He's been getting 2.5 pounds a day of the Enrich.

Luvs, he has free choice hay that is out there in round bales for him and the other geldings. My one worry is that alfalfa pellets will make him hot-he was a bit of a nutter when I first got him and he was on a really molasses rich 12% sweet feed.
