Update on Dixie's Heaves

She is doing so much better. Got her started on Dex and doubled the bronchial dialator (Breathe Ease).

She's still using the abs to push, but it's much less noticable and more relaxed, and I only hear a short puff on her exhale through her nose.

She's been on the Dex for 3 days. Has to go 2 more at the 5cc and then wean her off.

I hope she'll be back to normal (am I hoping for too much??)

Anyway, today I asked her if she wanted her alfalfa, and she actually drew in a deep breath and made a really low nicker!!! She's not been able to do that in weeks

Awwhh! I am glad to hear that she is doing a little better. And no, I don't think you are asking to much!

That's great! Hopefully you've found the right combination of meds. It's always a guessing game.
