What is midge flies.. there is a ton I mean a ton of little nat things. Is that it?? Thanks for all the help!

I don't think it is sweet itch. Cause he isnt rubbing him self raw or anything(doesnt luk like it from pics).
My horse had something similar twice. Once I used savalon. And the other time first I got a soft toothbrush and hibiscrub waterd down and got all the dead skin off and then I put athletes foot cream on it.

Both of what I did worked but the savalon didnt work as fast as the other stuff.

I would try Desitin diaper ointment. OR the store brand version, which is cheaper. That's what I use for most horsey skin issues first. Rain Scald responds well to it. I just rub it in well, next day I pick off scabs and rub in some more. Let it stew a day or so, whenever.. Then see what needs retreating. I swear by that stuff.
