thank you for all the support chief is now up and around. The vetr said that he had minor rotationa nd he did have some sepperation of the wall. He took of the special shoes he put on and he was sore for like a week and now he is up and around again. We will be able to ride him this spring. It was so good to hear that after we thought that we were going to lose him. Although we did have another scary experince with him. He ate MORE pig feed and he couldn't even get up! It was the sacrest hting ever but he pulled through!!!
Here is the orgianl post Foundering horse PLZ READ
Oh that is GREAT!!!!! Maybe you need to find a better container for the pig feed. When I was living at home my dad had feeder calves and we kept all of the bovine feed in an old chest freezer (and the horse feed)... It worked really well and kept the mice and rats out. You could always just adverties for a free bin of some sort... you never know. Good luck with everything!!!
This is a great resource for laminitis/founder information. It is annoying to have to make a yahoo id...but worth it. They have a bunch of xrays and visuals from other cases.
The pig feed was were the pigs were and my dad forgot to pick it up. we dont even how he got into it because we had it closed up! He probally watched the pig then did what they did lol This horse is like a dog!
