Update on Left Eye

Just thought I would give another update. She went to the vets two days ago to have it checked. Small amount of proud flesh around the knee, the vet cleaned it out and trimmed some dead tissue around the whole injury. The good news is the tissue is healthy and there are signs of new skin growth starting. The knee is actually staying together and not pulling apart every day.
She is eating well, and actually took off across the pasture playing and bucking. So, makes my daughter smile and feel better now, maybe even a chance to be able to run her again at some point.

The photo is taken after it was cleaned up, then Left Eye rolled in the dust. But, it is no longer wheeping drainage or serum, just slowly scabbing and growing new skin. The vet was very happy with how it healing and told my daughter that she was doing a fantastic job. He also told her to let Left Eye in the pasture and move around freely, she is spraying it daily with Shriners for healing and flies to stay away.

I was afraid to open this one after last weeks update. YEAH! I am so glad things are looking up. It actually looks pretty good to me!

I know, last week was so bad, and with me being 6 hours away from my daughter, I just felt helpless. I told her last week was, I think, the turning point for Left Eye, she was not doing real well, and then seemed to pull herself up and decided to live. I know these last few days have been so good for both my daughter and Left Eye. It is still a long healing process, but at least Left Eye is acting like a horse now, playing, bucking, eating and being a brat.

Glad to hear Left Eye has decided she has a lot more living to do.

That really is wonderful news. Any more news on the dogs?

Fantastic news! Sometimes I think we worry about our horses, and then they have the funniest ways of showing they're ok (tearing around a pasture bucking, for example) and that makes us worry some more!

The one dog is dead after it chewed up the neighbors 4-H lambs. The second dog is still there but chained up and they are not letting it off the chain.
