    Unhappy Urgent Help! Horse sick!

    Hi,
I have been away from my horse for 2 days, and my friend has been feeding etc.Well, I went back to see her today.I lunged her and she reared up, kicked out at me and she seemed like bouncy on her toes like she was sore.So I just walked her around then put her away.Anyway I put her back in her stall, then I was feeling all over her body to find where she was sore, and then I touched her flanks both sides she flattened her ears, and ran backwards away from me.She isn't turned off her food and water, so it isn't colic. She is really mopey and stuff.Does anybody know what it could be.We are getting her drenched just encase on the weekend.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou

You need to get a vet, your horse could be seriously sick. My mum thought Chinga had just a cold and turns out he had colic. It may not seem like your horse is really sick, but it might. I don't know alot about horse sicknesses but I think you should call or get a vet out.

Besure the vet feels for pulses at the back of the fetlocks to rule out acute founder.

Definatley need to consult a vet. I like for my vet to have background in chiro and accupunture too.

It can be colic, I know a horse that had colic and he would still eat, better call your vet.

No matter what, if you don't know what's wrong with your horse you should call the vet. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Good luck, I hope she's alright.

I'm sure she means the colic treatment when you put a tube down their throat to their stomach and then you pour in liquid that will flush out the stomach contents.. :)
