I guess I would have a vet check done about 98 percent of the time. I only would skip it if I was buying a horse from a friend and know of the horses medical history. I just feel it is good insurance when making a larger purchase like a horse is.

I guess it really depends on the horse and situation.

In most cases absolutely! It nerver hurts to get one! None of my horses have passed a test with a score of 100% (I think youd find that very rare)

But atleast by having a vet check done you then have an idea of whats going on and how you can then go about it if I chose to buy the horse.

Also, a vet check may bring about something that makes the horse unsuitable for you and your needs, but perfect for someone else.
