Question Vinegar as a fly spray??

Someone mentioned to me that if you take half of your fly spray and dilute it with half white vinegar, then you can save $$ since vinegar is cheap and that it still works just as well?

Anyone else heard of this and does it really work? And does your horse stink like heck/is it worth it???

You can make your own homemade fly spray and it include apple cider vinegar and something else. It apparently works the best, and it doesnt actually smell that bad.

Sorry but I dont know the other ingrediants in it, but I have seen it around on the forum somewhere else. My coach swears by it!

I've rubbed straight ACV on my mare, and it seems to work well...she also gets it in her feed.

I like the smell of the ACV, too.

Really?? So ACV doesn't have your typical "vinegar" smell??

I tried the vinegar thing and didn't have much luck. It doesn't last very long. The smell doesn't bother me, but drives my husband nuts. This summer I have been using 1 cup flyspray, 1 cup vinegar, 2 oz skin-so-soft or vegetable oil, 2 oz dish soap and fill the bottle the rest of the way with water. That seems to work well and lasts longer. Just shake it well before each use.

Not like white vinegar, no...my mare loves it in her feed too so they must like the smell too.
