Hey all!

So a few of you would have seen my new acquisition - a ridiculously obese 14hh pony.

When he first arrived, the weight tape measured him at a ginormous 700kg! 1 week on and he's now measuring 660kg and the visual change is phenomenal!

I am so over the moon - this pony would have been seriously close to foundering had I not got him when I did. He's now looking healthier (though still chubby) and he feels much healthier. He even goes for trots and canters around the paddock when before he'd just stand there and look sorry for himself.

He's been on a strict diet and exercise regime and it's working beautifully!

I'm adding a few photos to show the wonderful different in just a week!
(Also some adorable photos of him just 'cause!)

(The photo of him next to the buckskin was taken today also.)

Wow! Good job! I love looking at picture differences! It's amazing how much you can get done in a short week!

Amazing! You're doing a good job with him ponypride. You might be able to open a horsey fat farm using his before and after pictures. I've got a mare I need to send to one but since you measure in kgs instead of lbs I'm guessing you're too far away. LOL

Careful he doesn't lose too fast though.

But doesn't he look amazing? Look how happy he is!

(And that face! That last picture makes me DIE, maybe if JCnGrace ships out I can ship in? lol)

I can't wait until you get him good again, he's really going to be amazing. I think you found a diamond in the rough there.

Oh, and since I can't remember if I already mentioned it do check with your vet about possible long term issues even after you get him back to a good weight.

Yes I just worry as my Cushings/IR horse was obese when I got him (and supposedly emaciated when she got him). I have no doubt that his previous issues helped bring that about despite the fact he was fine for 6 years before diagnosis. Not to say a=b, just to be careful.
