    I'm just glad I was corrected on the color, never knew.

    On that topic, is sorrel/chestnut the same color? I see pictures of what I would call sorrel and people saying it is chestnut

    Long story short... I "sold" my horse to a person who in turn gave my money to the stable that was selling horses. We never got to look at these horses but were insured that they were broke to ride and all had negative coggins. We were told we would get the black horse, it was my pick 1. I don't remember seeing this guy on the list but that's what we got... I think they were liquidating a schooling ranch and he was "leftovers"

    They had him shipped to us, and it would have cost us more for them to take him back than it took to get him, so we kept him.

    Luckily he turned out to be a good horse, other than the tying...

    Yes. Typically, most people refer to the brighter, orangier color or flaxens as sorrel and then the darker color as chestnut, but they are genetically the same color.
