It seems to happen in wet weather conditions. Here I see it more often in Fall. My white legged gelding has crusties on the back of his pastern, just above the heels. Bummer.. So, I've slathered him up with Desitin. He hates me. Lol

Funny, Vida is the only one of our girls who gets it and she is black as night on all 4 legs.
