What's a GOOD resting heart rate????

Howdy,
I ve been thinking this for a while. What is the average resting heart rate of a horse? Is lower better? I clocked my horse at 36 bpm, I've even got him as low as 24 bpm. Is this good??

Normal range is 24-36 bpm. A lower rate will mean better fitness.
