What's the weirdest thing your mare does when she's in heat?

After 20 some years of working with horses, my luck has run out. I now have a mare that has a very noticable personality change when it heat.

The weirdest thing that happens is she will lift her feet when I put oil on them. She'll just hold them there all by herself until I'm done putting the oil on and move to the next foot. She's never acted or moved like she was getting ready to let me have it, she just tucks her leg in as far as it'll go.

I know when she's all done being in heat when she just stands there as I put the oil on, LOL

Any one else have weird mares??

when my mare is in heat she wont really act any different while im handling her, but if i put her away in her stall she'll immediately go to her corner and squeal every few minutes. I'll walk in and she'll stop and then just look at me like "what?"

she used to rub up on the wall and then kick it, but thankfully she hasn't been doing that anymore.

My mare doesn't do anything other than squeal, wink, and pee.. That's always fun to explain to the nieces though! The worst part is she's the only mare in the group of friends, so when we ride it's her and 3 boys.. If we're in front she'll be carrying on the entire time, my girlfriends get a good laugh out of it!

I've had mares lift their tales and put their back ends to me... as if I could help them in that way any

This! I have only gone through two cycles with my mare but this last one was very interesting. She kept swinging her butt toward me and I was worried she was going to kick, which is completely out of character, and then I realized she was trying to rub up against me.

It was funny...but still unacceptable!

She must have been pretty desperate! LOL
