Post White flaky stuff in ears?

Lakota has some white, flaky stuff in his ears. It looks like it could be a fungus but I'm not positive. I know its not Aural Plaque because I've seen the plaque before and it doesn't look like that. When I scraped some off, it was almost...soft and squishy/fluffy. Its all over the inside of his ears and when I scraped it, I got about a cotton ball size in my hand before he flung his head away from me. It looked like it hurt when I was touching them because he's usually pretty easygoing about me touching his ears. His ears are still pretty hairy, so if I get a pic, I'm not sure how good it'll be. The vet's coming out next Monday and I'll have him check Lakota's ears then, just wondering what you guys think it might be.

It's a form of plaque. Here are some links on it:

I had a TB with it (very minor) and my vet recommended not doing anything to it. It never got any bigger and the horse didn't seem to care. I used a fly mask with ear covers during the spring/summer.
