    OMG too funny! They have ice on them! I guess it doesn't bother them if they choose to be out in it. Thanks for the pics, I feel much better about my babies. And my horses will probably do the same when I get them to my house...out in the weather when they have a perfectly good stall to stand in! I guess it doesn't bother them much.

    It is good that you contacted the owners and they are getting hay, but I am just curious if you found out how much they are getting a day? Like everyone else said, they need that added energy in the winter to insure body heat. There is stable near mine that is notorious for only feeding two flakes of hay each day, which is totally not enough. Personally in the winter I prefer my horses on a round bale, but I do understand that is not always a possibility for everyone, especially with hay prices being where they are now. Anyway, if you have not already, I would find out just how much they are getting.

    Thanks for the suggestion. I'll do that. I plan on going to check on them tomorrow, so I'll ask him about it then. He's taken care of horses his whole life so I'm sure they are OK, but it never hurts to know what's going on.
