I won't put the neck attachment on her. I mainly bought this because she is prone to summer sores, has one on her hip now. I spray it with silverspray (alushield) but she rubs it, it gets raw, and then I see flies on it. My main concern was to protect her from the flies, but now I am looking at this blanket and it just looks uncomfortable.
She is a dark coated horse (I think she will gray out eventually) so maybe this will indeed cool her down some? She is kept in a stall/paddock combo, so she always has access to outdoors. She has a fan in her stall.
Would you put this on your horse on a very hot and humid day?
