Wish us luck, Carolina is being scoped today!

While still in TN the vets never seemed quite so concerned with Carolina's constant nose bleed. They never scoped her, said it was possibly Gutteral Pouch Mycosis but never went further with it.

The BO here arranged for the vet to come out today and he's going to scope her. It's a constant trickle but gets worse with exertion. Vet hopes it's an ulcer somewhere in her nose or airway and not GPM.

She's also got a swollen lymph node. Since they have to sedate her they're going to see if her teeth need floated and if so, do it then and there.

So please wish us luck that it's something simple, treatable and not GPM or anything more serious.

Well, she has an ethmoid hematoma. The vet is highly optimistic about her recovery though he has only seen and treated 3 in 10 years. But, next week he's going to scope her again and inject it with formalin.

He showed me on the scope the hematoma and the bleeding coming from it.

So it's completely treatable, thank God, and recoverable! Shouldn't affect her again in the future!

Yay! At least it's fixable! I'm glad it didn't turn out to be anything worse. =]

Thanks hon, I am too. It's the biggest one he's seen but now we know what we're looking at. He says that it isn't likely to return but there is a chance. Additionally he said she'll recover fairly quickly.

I appreciate everyone's good thoughts!

Oh and they floated her teeth since she had like three hooks. Oops.

So cool! I am happy to hear it was not the GPM.
Yay! On the road to recovery now!!
