Only if they are causing problems for the horse.

My yearling has two wolf teeth they are pretty close to his molars and they are small and they don't feel sharp. Would they cause a problem? What if he got some on the bottom jaw?

Those sound like canines, not wolf teeth. Wolf teeth are on the bottom. My mare is 20 and still has one, it doesn't cause her any issues. I did have my gelding's removed though, to prevent any problems.

Some people take them out because they mess with the bit

We pull all of our horses wolf teeth, makes for a much happier horse under saddle.

IIRC, it's much easier to take them out when they're small and not firmly rooted yet. So a lot of people will have them taken out as soon as they can to avoid a more expensive/complicated extraction if/when they interfere with the bit in the future.

If its a colt, most people will get them pulled the same time as castration.

Oh and another thing, the wolf/canine(i'm confused) teeth are about 1/2 to 1 cm apart from the molar. Would that cause a problem? He has no wolf teeth on the bottom jaw. Is it possible for them to erupt yet?
