    Wolf tooth

    Hey guys,

This may sound like a weird question but... Is it even possible for a horse to grow a wolf tooth between the age of 5 and 6 years old?

My mare had her vaccines done with a vet check yesterday and she's got 1 wolf tooth on the right side. I bought her when she turned 5 years old and according to the previous owner, she didn't have any. This is weird?

Maybe the previous owner just assumed she didn't have any. Mares do get wolf teeth and they can also have canines. I had a mare who I had my vet remove her wolf teeth before having her broke out. Well, they must not have removed the entire root because one of them grew back.
