Woody's sweet 12 ?????

Does anyone out there use "Woody's" sweet 12 horse feed?

I have a soon-to-be-bread mare...is that good feed for her? If so, how much do I give her??

If it is a standard sweet feed, no. Do some research on feeds. Talk to your vet.

I tried it because my feed store guys loved it. Hated it, my horses did crappy on it.

For years horses have done well with oats. It's the only thing that will help heal hind gut ulcers that not even medication can touch.

Just wanted to post on here that we picked up some "Woody's" sweet 12 Feed & my mare LOVES it! I am going to let her finish this bag up.. do you think I should switch her to NUTRINA for the next bag? I think it's called "Stock & Stable" by Nutrina.

Woody's feeds are made in Dickinson, ND and, in my opinion, are a good brand. However, I'm not a huge fan of sweet feed. They make several different products, so of it is something you are interested in, you should get the label/nutrition info for different types and then select the one that fits your horse's needs.

One of their products that I really like is Energized Oats. It is whole oats with a light coating of oil. The oil adds some fat and makes them dust free!

By the way, my horses loved it, so it tastes good, they lost weight on it though.
