Worming twice in 1 month?

Quick question, I recently purchased a horse who had not been de-wormed in over a year. when I got him, I wormed him June 1st, and he is still looking like he might still be wormy. Is it safe to give him another dose of wormer even though it's only been a little over a month since the last?

You should get a fecal sample and have your vet test it to see if and what kind of parasites your horse may have. Your vet can instruct you the kind of dewormer to use. You may even want to ask about doing a power pack with a dewormer such as panacure.

Check out Wormalicious Waffers. They are a new worming product. It is wormer but its put into a cookie so you don't have to mess with wormer tubes and your horse not getting all the wormer. I love them and so do my horses. They are not much more than a tube of wormer. Here is the website wormaliciouswaffers.weebly.com

I have a rescue TB who was living with cattle in pasture before I got her. She was in HORRIBLE shape (thin), maybe because of where I live by the swamps in florida is why my vet first when she was healthy enough gave her a Super dose of Strongid followed by Zimectrin Gold 2 weeks later. I have had no problems and of corse no worms either!! But every horse, vet, and area is different, just wanted to let you know what worked for me. Hope this helps.
