I think ours have played with the jolly ball 2-3 times in just as many years.
Fras likes to pick up 17 lb bags of cat food and throw them around that could get messy and expensive though
I like the milk jug/treat idea. That would be cheap and easy to make. Just hang one from the rafters.

I finally tested my Jolly Ball the other day...

Sam - No reaction. I bounced it off him and he stood there...dozing.
Loki & Red - Snorting, spooking. Apparently, the ball has teeth! IT'S EVIL E-E

I left it in there feed trough for now. The worst they can do it roll it under the fence. Loki had the same reaction the first time we put there on-the-ground movable trough in the pasture. Now he bites and kicks it all over the place.

KC; I would check out the Likit products, or Pony Pops (more expensive, but even better). It would certainly keep them preoccupied while your away :) I'm looking into making at-home Likit and Pony Pops myself, and I'll post the recipe and instructions once I get it all figured out. 8D

thanks id love the recipe- they aren't my horses so i am not about to invest much in them but they have def "eaten" things that were mine (my horses beautiful tail and blankets )... thanks!
