Your horse has five hearts...

I saw this and thought it was a great picture that shows the inner blood supply for a horse's hooves. I can't link to the original page as it is on FaceBook.



"Please share so that people can SEE there IS an organ like status to the foot and there IS a 'delicate procedure' to trim it. The equine foot is not a dead block of wood or 'toe nail' on the end of the limb...it's intricate and the practice of binding it to shunt circulation and sensation in the name of 'protection, traction and support' is not conducive to healing, function or overall circulation to the entire being."

Thank you. That is a really great image! I wish we spent more time understanding the physiology of horses than we do the practice of dominating them.
