Equine work wanted in Canada!

Hey Guys,

I was just wondering if anyone knew of a great place to work in Canada in the equine industry? (Preferably Calgary/Alberta or British Columbia)

I've been looking everywhere and contacting many stables, and I've heard of so many places that need hard working horse people (I have 12 years riding experience etc..) for the winter (im there from September 2012 on a working holiday visa) but many of them dont have websites so its more who knows who.

I am a 22 year old Kiwi (New Zealand for those of you who dont know what a Kiwi is :p) travelling to Canada in search of Equine work - anything from stable/ranch hand to rider/exerciser/show riding etc

Does anyone have any contacts or know anyone who might be hiring?

Much appreciated!
Thanks
Stace

Hey! Have you tried kijiji? Type in alberta.kijiji.ca or bc.kijiji.ca, depending on where you want to go and do a search for barn work or exercise rider. Lots of barns post on there, especially in the Calgary area. You can also check Horses for sale, ranches and horse businesses in Canada - Northernhorse.com and go into the classifieds. They have a job section, not sure what's up currently but sometimes can find stuff there! Hope this helps!

Can't you just pretty much show up at Spruce Meadows this time of year and pick up some work? It seems there's a lot going on in that area right now.

Have you tried http://www.yardandgroom.com/ ? You can search on country, province and even jobs.
