Exercise riders?

On another thread about possibly leasing my first horse, someone mentioned being an exercise rider. I don't care if I get paid or not (being only a beginner intermediate rider, I probably wouldn't) but I want to hone my skills and get some ride time.

The lease might still be a good option, despite the fact that I don't have a lot of money. I can go down and spend time with the horses without charge, and the horse that I'm interested in is definitely a beginner horse. The barn is a very convenient distance from my house, and the owner is there often, so she can fit into my crazy schedule. But, if I could find someone with a not too crazy horse within a reasonable distance and I could ride for free, that might be something to look into.

My question is, how do I find people looking for exercise riders?

If it were me, and i was looking for someone to lease/ride my horse, Id want them to be a very good or excellent rider.

If you are just looking for ride time, why not go into a lesson program? Or volunteer your time working in exchange for lessons or ride time?

Yes, that's as much as I expected. Never mind then.

The lady I'm leasing from has offered lessons if I need them, but I can see if I can find someone willing to do a work for lessons exchange as well.
