Smile Ideas

Hey, I need ideas for ways to make money around the barn.. I lease a mare & am planning on buying another within the next 2 weeks.
So far I have stall cleanings, grooming, clipping & braiding services... anything else?

I'm not trying to be gross or inappropriate here but sheath cleaning? I'm going to have the vet do it because the idea makes me want to vomit.

When the horses I worked with got turned out around this time I would have paid good money for someone to pull burrs out of their manes!

I'd pay to have someone stuff & hang my hay nets for me reliably. Not sure about your barn, but at mine anything beyond tossing a flake of hay over the door is unlikely to be done by the regular barn staff. My horse practically vacuums up loose hay, so unless I want him going without hay for 20+ hours each day, hay nets are a must!

I'd also love to have someone pick out his feet, apply thrush treatment, and brush him when I'm out of town for work.

What kind of a rider are you? If you're experienced/good enough, and have some show experience under your belt, you could charge for training rides.

Also... clipping! I hate doing this myself and almost always pay to have it done xD

The sensitivity of the internet baffles me.

That is a good idea! I used to do sheath cleanings all the time on my old gelding... nasty, but a money maker.
