Hi all. I am going to school as well as doing an unpaid internship right now, and I really need work if I want to stay in school (It's only one summer class - an EMT training course to be specific - but it's 20 minutes away each day). The internship is also another 20 minute drive. I've been working at job hunting for weeks now, to no avail. So if someone has any barn chores (or heck, any job at all) they would like doing I will come an do them!
How far from St. Paul? I know Camp Courage is looking for an equestrian director, but I think they are in Maple Lake (I was going to apply, but due to allergies cannot do a camp thing).
I think Skyrock is looking for help right now too.

Have you tried the tourist/fishing camps? Room and board are usually offered along with long hours, low wages and good tips. Just kidding. These outfits need employees and it's great if you enjoy the out doors - often cabin cleaners, kitchen help, dock work, etc.
But the thing is I couldn't do something like that. Class is every day until about 1:00, and then the internship has about 20 hours of shifts per week - so, I would need something with flexibility and not something full time for sure :p That's my main problem, finding something that fits the specifications of my schedule.
It looks like both were filled. There is a small farm by me looking for a live-in, in Dayton, MN. Not sure if that is something that would interest you. For right now would be sharing the owner's house, but there is an apartment being built above one of the barns currently. Only 14 stalls and a few pasture horses, smaller place but nice group.
Also, Lisa Avaloz at Featherbrook Farm is looking for summer help, she also has a house on property that can be lived in, or not. Her place is COOL and my gelding is staying there for the summer too :) her website is Home. Part time barn chores person needed. Must be experienced with horse care and handling.
Duties include feeding, cleaning stalls, turn out, farm maintenance etc. Morning and evening
Hours available.
