Okay, i will try to keep this short. I have a friend, Chris, who knows lots of people that own companies and have lots of money. I was talking to him the other day saying how nice it would be to become a pro rider and make money by riding, not thinking it was actually a possibility... just dreaming. lol
Well anyway...Chris texts me a few days later saying he talked to a friend that owns a company that makes horse riding equipment, english and western that would like to SPONSOR me!!! He gave the owner my number and he called me this afternoon. This company comes out and measures EVERYTHING from the saddle to the bit to make sure it all fits the horse perfectly and everything is custom made. They don't use computer or television or get their business out, only by word of mouth. He asked me how often i show, how many horses i have, what places i normally get and all of that kind of stuff. He said he would like to come out to watch me ride at my next show, or have one of his workers come out to watch me and see how i place. After that, he said he would contact me again and we could get everything worked out from there. He said he "crunched some numbers" but didn't tell me an exact amount of money. He wants me to be able to do as many shows as possible since their company only gets business by word of mouth and he said everything will be paid for, all accomodations for me and the horse and everything will be taken care of.
So I am wondering, after the show and he contacts me and we meet and everything, what do i need to look out for so I don't get scammed? How EXACTLY does this stuff work? I was not expecting anything to happen, i barely even believed my friend chris when he said that someone will be sponsoring me. Any POLITE help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!!!
