To all those that have lost horses

I just wanted to share a few words of Wisdom from my 16 year old daughter.... maybe they can help you through the tough times

We lost 2 horses that we had buried at the home that we had all intentions of purchasing when our lease up was and living there forever. Sadly a house fire ended those plans. My daughter daughter was teared up at the thought of never being able to visit Katie and Mac's graves. A few weeks later she told me that she was no longer upset about not being able to see the graves anymore and I asked her why. She said "I just realized that the graves are not that important that is just where their bones are buried it is the memories that i carry everywhere with me in my heart that is what is the important thing"

Just recently we had to put her 3 year old pain down due to severe complications from choke. After all was said and done I left her alone to say her farewells to her Cupid. She came over to me (all teary eyed) and told me that she was ready to go home. I asked her ... did you say all your goodbyes? She looked back at him covered in her favorite sweatshirt and said " No mom not goodbye just see you later cause I know that he will be waiting with Katie and Mac and one day Cheyeene and Elmo for me on the other side when it is my time to go... and the first thing he is gonna want is his bootie scratched"

Very sweet. I recently lost a small family pony, I have so many memories with him.

He taught me everything I knew from the beginning on wards. Afterwards we sold that farm (relocated to larger ones). I am no longer able to visit my pony, but the memories are always in my heart.

Sir Success. Eventer.

When I had to make the decision to put my 28 yr old down I felt like I was committing suicide. We had become such a huge part in each other's lives. There was an incredible silent communication between us, like reading each other's thot's. He had me well trained. He lived with me for 23 years. He is still missed.
