Missy - What a waste of a beautiful girl

I lost my beautiful 6 year old 17.2hh mare to Colic 26th June this year. She was an Irish Sport Horse: Busted & King Of Diamonds.
Beautiful, nosey, brave, intelligent, perfect.



My heart is broken over her as I had only begun to get her started for working due to my own time constraints.
Unfortunately for her I was unable to come up with the deposit that the vets required (€3,500) before they would take her in even just to see if they could help her. I had no choice but to let her go.

I vowed I would learn from this loss and I have studied so much about Colic since.
I miss that big beautiful mare so much Im devastated.

The week after I lost the big girl my other little mare came down with Colic, she was caught in time and with the help of another veterinary hospital who did not look for the deposit has made it through so far and for that I am blessed.

I am bringing her on to do Future Event Horse League next year so hopefully we can have some fun together.

Im so sorry for your loss. I lost my 5-year-old AQH gelding in 2002 and I still cannot get over it. So young!! Is there something that made them both colic? Again, Im so sorry but she's in horsey heaven!!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I ended up losing my first mustang to colic.

I lost my mare, Star, last year to colic and I feel your pain.

I cannot imagine what that would be like...i remember when I was in france, and lou-boyy had a colic, and my parents didnt tell me at the time, and when I got back they told me and even though he recovered perfectly fine, I was so so so distraught at the sheer thought that I couldve lost him...
Now its really hard to go away because im really afraid something will happen to him and he will die and I wont be there to say goodbye to him =[
