RIP Dashy

Yesterday I lost my favourite horse during a race.
Nothing Known also called 'Dashy' or 'Dashy Boy' was a three year grey gelding by Dash for Cash x Tell Nought (NZ).
He had four starts for a win, a second and a fourth. He won just over ten grand.
Sadly yesterday he went amiss in a hind leg and had to be put down.

It was so hard to be there sitting in the grandstands when the jockey pulled him and the green screens went up. This has been the first horse I've lost during a race and I am deeply saddened it had to be him.

When I started trackriding at the farm, he was the first one I rode. And I rode him everyday and fell in love with him. He taught me alot and we had a strong bond. He was the sweetest, kindest horse and everybody loved him. Not only that he was the soundest horse out on the farm and had the bets conformation. I wanted to have him as a hack when he was doe racing. He loved cuddles, loved getting pamper and even would stand still in his paddock while I pull his mane.

This boy had talent. He has all the natural ability in the world but he just couldnt put it together in a race yet. He was going to go afar, but alas its not to be.

Dashy I love you, and I wish you didnt have to go this way. I will remember scaring myself when I almost drown you in the pool, when you dumped me that windy morning and all the times seeing you first thing in the morning and having you neigh out and come strolling out to me. You always brought a smile to my face and now I will never see you again.

RIP Dashy. <3

He was a beautiful boy. I know how much it hurts me as a fan to see horses go out like that. I can't imagine how hard it must be for you. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
