Supreme's First Venture

Supreme, otherwise known as the "Big Gelding", was an American Saddlebred-- beautiful chestnut color and absolutely huge! They affectionately referred to his hooves as "manhole covers". I met up with this magnificent equine while I was working and riding at a show stable in town during my high school years. I already had an arabian gelding (elsewhere) who was my pleasure ride, but quickly became attached to the Big Gelding. He was not very nice and at first I was very intimidated by him. I put alot of time into this horse and he eventually trusted me exclusively and I was the first to complete an "A" class with him at a pretty big show.
I went away to college and could only afford to bring the arab with me, so the Big Gelding stayed behind. Very quickly, and without me being informed, my trainer who was and older man, passed away and to this day I don't know what fate befell "my" beloved Gelding. When I got back from school I called the local auction houses but I'm sure you know that was a dead end. Whatever happened to him, I am certain he is gone by now-- he would be 30 years old, almost 31 now. I have a big photograph of us in my living room and every time I see it I feel awful for not being able to buy him and take him to college with me.
