Default Wild horse slaughter (poem)

this is a poem i made a while ago and i thought i should post it on here. hope you thinks its good.

I was born wild and free
Never to be tamed nor captured from flee
I was always at my mothers side even if it killed me
One day my father took stand and ran in a whirl
And the strange man looped him in a dazing curl
My mother and grandmother were draged on the ground
Screaming at me to run away from the horrible sound
I stood in fright not knowing what to do
But before I could step they had me in to
I was draged on the ground by many of men
Then jamed into a small holding pen
Me and my family were taken some were far away
That had me in a horrific gaze
I heard the screaming neighs of dieing horses
Not knowing that those will soon be ours
My father told me to be brave
And my mother told me dont stare into that gaze
My grandmother said it will be ok
I knew that we were going to die soon
I could feel it in my chest
Never in my whole life had I never not had rest
I saw my my family all being shoved into a small lane
And yet they all were able to say it will be ok
First I heard my mothers scream
Then went my fathers and grandmothers
Just a few moments later did they shove me in the lane
Knowing it was the end of the road I just stood still
And then I heard it Click and I went into a fade
Im now in the forever greens hills that go on and on
I stood in glee as I saw my whole entire family run towards me
I neighed in exietment and knew we will never be taken away

......It's October 2009, That is a one year and two month difference. I used to lurk around here for weeks before I even joined. Anyways, regarding the OP: nice poem! It is well written, regardless of the subject. Maybe in the future you can try entering the local poem competitions.

Wow. That was so sad. But really good. I hope to believe that is how the horses see life after that living hell....

I like the poem but honestly my dream is to see a wild herd running free. I hope to go to the blackhills sanctuary one day. When I was younger I helped to support a foal named cloud. he was beautiful.
