Tbanks Corporal! Though I agree that yes it is sad to find a good horse starving, he was sadly IN MY CARE while he looked like that

I had built him up from a similar weight after getting him at auction only to have him lose every bit over our long winter. Hopefully this winter we are much more prepared! I am going to start feeding him up early.

So yes he is a fairly easy keeper during the spring/summer months. Fall/winter he blinks an eye and sneezes..and BAM...we've just lost 90 pounds. Ah TBs. what can you do.

Figured it out desert! Wasn't the ultium at all. I have been giving him electrolytes and its those he is not too fond of. Guess I will have to try another means/flavor!

He has been switched to a smaller feed amount still though. He's gaining even with consistent work so figured I could dial it back a notch. At least until late fall when winter starts coming back! That will be the real test haha ;/
